How to Fix "Update Your Nameservers" Print

  • 0

After adding a website to your Webfort hosting account, you may see the following message:

"To connect your domain(s), update your nameservers"

This simply means your domain isn't yet pointed to our servers. Follow the steps below to resolve this.

Step 1: Update Your Nameservers

Log in to your domain registrar (the company you bought your domain from) and update the nameservers to the ones provided in your Webfort welcome email. DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate worldwide.

Step 2: Check Your DNS A Record

If you manage your DNS externally (for example, through Cloudflare), make sure your domain's A record is pointing to your Webfort server IP address. You can find your server IP address in the Webfort control panel under your website's domain settings.

Step 3: Use the DNS Editor

If you manage DNS through the Webfort control panel, navigate to your domain's DNS settings and verify the records are correct. You can make any necessary changes using the built-in DNS editor.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Allow up to 24 hours for DNS changes to propagate before raising a support ticket.
  • Check for conflicting DNS records, such as multiple A records pointing to different IP addresses.
  • If everything looks correct and the issue persists after 24 hours, contact our support team and we'll be happy to help.
