The Webfort control panel makes it easy to download a complete backup of your website or email data, and to restore or migrate a site by uploading an existing backup file.
Downloading a Backup
Backup files are streamed directly to your browser — no extra storage is used on the server.
- Log in to the Webfort control panel and go to Websites.
- Click Manage on the website you'd like to back up.
- Click the … (three-dot) menu in the top-left corner of the dashboard.
- Choose one of the following:
- Download website data – includes all files and databases.
- Download email data – includes all email accounts and passwords.
- The file will download directly to your computer.
Uploading a Backup
You can upload a previously downloaded backup to restore a site or set up a new one.
- In the Webfort control panel, go to Websites.
- Click Add website and create a blank website.
- From the website dashboard, click Upload backup.
- Click Choose file, select your backup file, and the import will begin automatically.
Note: Uploads are subject to the email and database resource limits of your hosting package. Any previously existing backups will remain accessible after the upload completes.
