Managing Packages in WHM Print

  • 0

Hosting packages in WHM let you define a set of resource limits that you can quickly assign to new client accounts. Instead of setting limits manually each time, you create packages once and reuse them.

Creating a Package

  1. In WHM, go to Packages > Add a Package.
  2. Give it a name (e.g. "Starter", "Business", "Premium").
  3. Set the resource limits:
    • Disk Space (MB) — storage for files, emails, and databases.
    • Bandwidth (MB) — monthly data transfer allowance.
    • Max Email Accounts
    • Max Databases
    • Max Addon Domains — additional domains the client can host.
    • Max Subdomains
  4. Click Add.

Editing a Package

  1. Go to Packages > Edit a Package.
  2. Select the package from the dropdown.
  3. Update the limits and click Save Changes.

Note: Changing a package updates the limits for all accounts currently using that package.

Deleting a Package

  1. Go to Packages > Delete a Package.
  2. Select the package and confirm.

You can only delete packages that are not assigned to any active accounts.

Tips

  • Create 2 or 3 packages to match the plans you sell (e.g. Basic, Standard, Premium).
  • Leave some headroom in your limits. You can always increase them later, but reducing limits on live accounts can cause issues.
  • Use the Feature List setting to control which cPanel features each package can access (see our guide on managing WHM feature lists).
